Henry Golding Told Jimmy Fallon Why He Said "No" to "Crazy Rich Asians" At First

Get the Full StoryIt's hard not to "crazy swoon" over Hollywood newcomer Henry Golding, but he almost avoided the movie scene completely. The Crazy Rich Asians star stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Aug. 15 to talk about his new film and revealed he was resistant to joining at first. Henry worked as a travel host before being cast as Nick Young, and didn't feel experienced enough for the cinematic world.

"They sent, probably three or for emails asking me to audition," Henry told Jimmy. "I was like, 'No, no, no. I'm not an actor. I'm sure there's somebody really amazing, ready for this role and the studio's not going to game on a newbie or a greenhorn.'"

Fortunately, the film's director John M. Chu convinced Henry to reconsider joining the cast and the rest is history.
