Moby Continues To Wear His Heart On His Neck

Get the Full StoryMoby s a vegan, or haven t you heard? He s literally spelled it out for you. Back in October Moby got VEGAN FOR LIFE tattooed on his neck. Then a month later he got fellow vegan Kat Von D to outline the words ANIMAL RIGHTS on his forearms, and the month after that, he got those letters filled in. At some point he added a little chicken scratch cross on his face into the mix. And this week, Moby s showing off his latest acquisition. All of his recent tattoos are text save the little cross which makes me wonder if Moby s working on a second volume of his memoirs only this time he s self publishing. I know they say don t judge a book by its cover, but what if the inside is literally full of shit and blood, guts and bones ?

The other side of Moby s poor little neck now reads protect the innocent. defend the vulnerable. Moby calls it his version of the Hippocratic oath, but I m pretty sure he only means the animals. Which is fine. I m sorry animals, this is your Superman. I wish I had better news for you.

Whichever Ink Master hopeful got this skull pick was fucked! This one wasn t done by KVD, and it looked a lot better before it sprouted stubble and scabs. However, the less said about the state of Moby s t-shirt the better.

I got my first tattoo, a cross on my neck, in 1995 when i was on lollapalooza with sonic youth, beck, pavement, etc. After 24 years i thought it was time to ask thekatvond to give it an update. Wouldn t it be remarkable if the worlds religions agreed on this one simple edict; thou shalt not kill? Thou shalt not kill humans. Thou shalt not kill animals. Thou simply shalt not kill.

So far, this book is a bit repetitive with no clear narrative. For me, it s lacking in imagery and style and comes off as preachy and cold. But maybe it gets better as it goes along. Hopefully the next chapter will pack a real punch and Moby will get a full color portrait of Natalie Portman as a phoenix rising from the ashes on his back.
