So the news that he got secretly married not very long ago should be no surprise. According to People, Riz is so stealthy about his personal life, that he didn t even say who he married when finally he broke the news on the podcast Grounded With Louis Theroux. I know, I know, how is an Instagram model supposed to get her follower count up if he didn t drop that ? Well, he didn t marry an Instagram model. Turns out it s not a rule, just a guideline.Page Six reports that Riz married a New York Times best selling author. I know, I know, who are her parents? Is it Cazzie David?! No! Get this, her name is Fatima Farheen Mirza, and her parents aren t even famous.

The 38-year-old actor revealed that he tied the knot not very long ago during Monday s episode of the Grounded with Louis Theroux podcast.
The subject of his marriage came up when Ahmed, who is originally from England, said he decided to stay in California after completing a film there because his wife s family is from the Bay Area.
When host Louis Theroux remarked that he didn t realize Ahmed wasn t single and asked how long he had been married, the Emmy winner replied, Not very long, actually.
I think this is the first time I ve ever mentioned it in an interview, so congratulations on this incredibly exciting scoop, Ahmed joked.

Riz is doing promotion for his movie Sound of Metal so he also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and talked a little bit more about why we weren t invited to the wedding which was in a backyard super intimate, and socially distanced affair . Page Six reports:
It s a weird one, isn t it? I guess because we live in a social media age if you don t, like, get on the megaphone about stuff it s like, it s a secret but I never know how much is oversharing, he told Fallon. Like, I m into matcha lattes, but that s just never come up. I m not a secret matcha latte drinker.
And just to prove he s not trying to hide anything, he gave us his and Fatima s origin story:
The pair initially met so randomly in a New York cafe while he was prepping for his film Sound of Metal, where he plays a heavy metal drummer who starts to lose his hearing.
We just both sat down at the same table in a cafe where we both turned up to write, he said. We were both jostling over the same laptop plug point, like a very modern way of meeting, and we struck up a friendship and then reconnected down the line.
