Marcia Gay Harden Is Sorry For Suggesting Dame Judi Dench Was Bitter About Her Oscar Win

Get the Full StoryLast week, Marcia Gay Harden dropped some vintage Hollywood tea and suggested that in 2001 when she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscars for her performance in Pollock, Dame Judi Dench felt snubbed! You see, Judi had been nominated for her performance in Chocolat and, I mean an American movie with a French name? That s an Oscar-winner bay-bee! But now Page Six says Marcia Gay is sorry and that her words were misinterpreted. Well, was Judi stomping around backstage whining Marcia! Marcia! Marcia! or wasn t she?

This all started when Marcia talked to Vulture about her Oscar win and said that one of her fellow nominees was not happy. Marcia said, It was my perception that somebody wasn t so happy, but you never know what people have going on. Marcia ruled out Kate Hudson for Almost Famous , Frances McDormand for Almost Famous , and Julie Walters for Billy Elliot , leaving only Dame Judi Dench. Judi s husband, Michael Williams, had died just a couple of months before the 2001 Oscars, so she was obviously dealing with a lot.

After the interview made the rounds and people wondered why Marcia Gay decided to swing at Judi Dench twenty years later, she decided to apologize for even bringing it up. Marcia hopped on Instagram:

There was so immediately return for Page Six s request for comment from Judi s rep.

Yeah, she better apologize to Dame Judi. Marcia better not think she can come for a TikTok dancing, goldfish savior! Not to mention, Dame Judi reigns over all of the street cats in London. You don t wanna fuck with that kind of power!
