Johnny Depp May Be Looking To Settle The 2018 Assault Lawsuit Against Him Out Of Court To Avoid Another Trial Next Month

Get the Full StoryAfter nearly two grueling, thankless years working as a semi-professional litigant, Johnny Depp seems poised to lay down his swearin bible in favor of a scribblin pen and retire to a quiet life creating stunning works of digital art for his Never Fear Truth NFT collection. According to Radar, Johnny s actively working to settle the next lawsuit on his docket out of court, which is apparently something you can do if your opponent isn t a woman who embarrassed you. Even though he s barely had time to get a haircut since the conclusion of his trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny s already scheduled to stand trial again on July 25 over a 2018 lawsuit filed against him by Gregg Rocky Brooks, a location manager who is accusing Johnny of assault on the set of City of Lies back in 2017. We know that Johnny never fears the truth, so he must want to settle because he developed piles from sitting on the witness stand for so long. Besides, the next trial will not be televised, so where s the fun in that?

According to Newsweek, in his suit, Rocky claims that at the time of the alleged assault, Johnny reeked of alcohol and reacted violently when he was told that filming would have to cease after their permit expired. Rocky claims that Johnny punched him twice in the rib cage, causing him emotional distress as Johnny continued to scream and berate him in front of a set full of people until Johnny s bodyguards physically removed him from the scene. Rocky claims that Johnny s intention was for him to suffer humiliation. And in a shocking turn of events, Johnny claims that Rocky provoked the attack. So I can see why Johnny might not want to admit that in open court. Imagine, getting provoked into committing physical violence by A MAN! How embarrassing. Radar reports:

Johnny Depp isn t as confident about this courtroom battle!

The Hollywood megastar who won millions of dollars in damages from ex-wife Amber Heard in April is making a last ditch attempt to avoid a second scandalous court case, Radar has been told.

Depp has been sued by Gregg Rocky Brooks, a former colleague with whom he worked with on the set of the City of Lies movie in 2018. Brooks claimed Depp punched him in the ribcage.

The case is scheduled to go before court next month. But according to a well-placed source, Depp s legal team, headed by attorney Camille Vasquez, was deep in negotiations with lawyers for Brooks up until late this week in a bid to settle the matter out of court.

A deal had not been agreed to as of Friday, nor is it known how much Depp has offered to stave off a trial.

According to court documents reviewed by this website, Brooks claimed the incident caused him emotional distress, and Depp s actions were meant to make him suffer humiliation. He added Depp s intoxication and temper on the set of the film created a hostile, abusive and unsafe work environment.

Brooks sensational lawsuit also alleges that Depp offered him 100,000 to punch him in the face after the incident! Brooks is also seeking unspecific damages if he wins the case and is suing the film s producers and directors as well.

Seriously though, how is Johnny supposed to fit in a haircut with his schedule this packed? Do we expect international superstar, musical maestro, NFT protege, selfless champion of truth, unwavering defender of justice, voice of the voiceless, legs of the legless, devoted father, connoisseur of fine wines and spirits, and stalwart feminist icon to cut it himself? What, he s just supposed to hack away at his little rubber banded struggle ponytail himself with a nail clipper pulled out from the court stenographer s desk while sitting right there on the stand? In America? In the year 2022? No wonder he wants to settle. It ll take him weeks to hack through that thing on his own.

No wonder his fans keep screaming #JusticeForJohnny! This man needs a professional salon treatment, STAT!
