According to a report from The Washington Post, the tribute has now been taken down. Chad Gilmartin, a spokesperson for the Justice Department claimed that the decision was in no way political and that they were looking into other ways to honor the victims. The ATF will continue to honor the memory of all victims of violent crime while at the same time preserving the rights of law-abiding Americans. Of course, there was no explanation as to what was wrong with how the tribute they already had honored the victims other than the fact it was installed during the Biden administration . The memorial was created last April by former ATF director Steven Dettelbach who was appointed by Joe Biden. It featured pictures of police officers, children and other victims of mass killings.
