The second unprecedented invite to Windsor Castle was stroking just the right notes for the president until Buckingham Palace announced French President Emmanuel Macron will be treated to a visit to the U.K. and Windsor Castle in July, before Trump s visit in October. Normally, this is a slight that would barely bother a sane leader. But this is Trump, renowned for his penchant for holding a grudge and his disagreements with Macron over NATO, climate change, Iran, and trade. Macron has subtly and sometimes not so subtly criticized Trump s worldview, nationalism, and policies.
